The Naval Front by Donald and Gordon Maxwell: The gilt title to the spine stands out in this photograph but the decoration below, and the lettering and decoration to the front board, although bright, are a 'gold' colour, not gilt.

THE NAVAL FRONT

Painted by Donald Maxwell
and
Described by Gordon S. Maxwell

First published in 1920 by A. & C. Black, London

CONDITION: at least VERY GOOD.
These images show the gilt lettering to the spine. The decoration to the spine, and the lettering and decoration to the front board, although bright, are a 'gold' colour, not gilt. The top and bottom of the spine are a little worn but still intact. Despite the flash reflection on the photograph of the front board this shows the navy binding closest to its true colour. Across the top corner of the front board there is a crease but there appears to be no damage to the pastedown on the other side of it. There is some general shelf wear but book is still attractive and the contents generally very clean. The titled tissue guards are all in place on the coloured illustrations and binding is square and firm.
