This is an invaluable work of reference both for the practical maker of model ships and for those who are interested in naval history and the development of ships' armaments. Every kind of deck fitting, for all kinds of craft, both sail and steam, is included, as well as some of the more conspicuous internal fittings. The items are arranged alphabetically: each is illustrated with working drawings and sketches and fully described, and practical instructions for its manufacture are given. The opening chapters deal with the model dockyard and workshop, and are a mine of information essential to the practical model-maker.
The second part of the book has a definitely historical value, besides illustrating and giving practical instructions for the construction of various model ship's weapons of all periods. It is the story of the development of naval armaments from the inception of explosives to cordite.
Captain Isard is a regular contributor to Marine Models, and Mr. Percival Marshall is the editor of The Model Engineer.

Condition:
Lightly faded blue cloth with gilt titles and anchor decoration to the spine. Corners still sharp; some light shelf bumping to top and bottom of the spine. Page block is sound and bottom edges are rough cut but pages are clean and bright. Condition VERY GOOD.
Dust wrapper is not price clipped; lightly torn and chipped but has little loss overall and is in a sleeve. Probably condition is about GOOD PLUS.

My returns policies
If you wish to return a book please let me know as soon as possible but no later than three days after receipt.
If you feel, and I agree after we have discussed it, that my description was misleading or inaccurate then, upon the receipt of the book in the condition you received it, I will then refund all your payment plus your return postage.
If the book isn't what you really wanted and if we agree, then, upon my receipt of the book in the condition you received it, I will then refund your bid price. I have found, so far, that the majority of my buyers are genuine. For my part I try and describe the books as fairly as possible - I am not a professional - and do not like buyers to feel dissatisfied. I am happy to pack together multiple buys made within a seven day period and post at cost as long as total value of purchases in the packet does not exceed the Royal Mail's built in compensation, which at the moment is £46.00.
