A blue cloth bound book with gilt lettering to the spine in VERY GOOD condition - First and last few pages have a little foxing but majority are clear and clean. Some light spotting to page block edges - bottom and side pages are rough cut.

Royal Navy Surgeon Rear-Admiral T.T.Jeans autobiography

Surgeon Rear Admiral T. T. Jeans joined Haslar hospital 1894 becoming involved in Boxer revolution, Spanish American war, Boer War and Russo-Jap war, 1914 HMS Swiftsure, convoy work and then Gallipoli. Important Dardenelles details; he treated the wounded from the Lancashire Landings and spent a night aboard the beached River Clyde, Suvla bay and the last main battle in August before assisting with the evacuation returned UK 1916 to become PMO Portsmouth and then hospital ship Soudan based at Scapa until final surrender. Served in South Africa before retiring 1926. During his naval career he published many naval adventures for boys.
