Jacket blurb

As the war with France drags on, the revolution is turning on itself even as its armies move towards Italy.

After playing his part in the siege of Calvi George Markham and his men are assigned to the sloop Sylphide under the young and impetuous Captain Germain. It is not long before Germain's foolhardy hunt for glory throws Markham into the midst of a desperate ship-to-ship action. But fighting hand to hand between the decks of a French ship is what the Marines do best.

Following another of Germain's insane plans, Markham is set ashore in the midst of the French army, while escorting a group of French loyalists on a secret mission. In the days to come Markham might often wish to be back in the thick of the shipboard action.

Dodging French patrols, searching for a secret prize, untangling the deceit and subterfuge all around him, Markham's wits and courage will be tested to the utmost. Once again he must rely on the loyalty of his men and the ever-grudging assistance of Sergeant Rannoch. Then the unexpected arrival of a figure from Markham's past overturns everything.

My RETURNS & POSTAGE and PACKING Policies

If you wish to return a book please let me know as soon as possible but no later than three days after receipt.

If you feel, and I agree after we have discussed it, that my description was misleading or inaccurate then, upon the receipt of the book in the condition you received it, I will then refund all your payment plus your return postage.

If the book isn't what you really wanted and if we agree, then, upon my receipt of the book in the condition you received it, I will then refund your bid price.

I have found, so far, that the majority of my buyers are genuine.

For my part I try and describe the books as fairly as possible - I am not a professional - and do not like buyers to feel dissatisfied.

My Postage and Packing charges are calculated before wrapping as best I can with a very nominal amount added for packaging costs.

I am happy to pack together multiple buys made within a seven day period and post at cost as long as total value of purchases in the packet does not exceed the Royal Mail's built in compensation, which at the moment is £36.00.
