Special Entry Cadetships, Royal Navy

This item's cover is badly spotted but inside is mostly unmarked; place cursor over image below of front cover to see title page. The original staples have been removed ( paper between holes is intact but rust traces still visible ), so for the moment pages are loose.

Just about VERY GOOD condition.

This interesting thirty-eight page pamphlet printed by the Naval Outfitters Gieves Ltd., begins by outlining the Official Regulations for applicants wishing to serve as officers in the Royal Navy in 1925, the qualifications needed to apply and the financial aspects if accepted.

The 'Executive' and the 'Engineering' branches have their own sections outlining pay and promotion, scope of duties, messing arrangements, the attraction of a naval career ( and points out Geddes axe had finished falling so promotion prospects were good ), training on entry, syllabus etc.

The last sentence in the publication sets the scene for the period:-
"Although the highest ranks in the service, vis:- that of Admiral of the Fleet and Admiral, are confined to the Executive Officers, yet competition in the Engineering Branch is not so strenuous and the large majority of Engineer Officers can at least hope to retire with the rank of Captain (E)."

My returns policies

If you wish to return a book please let me know as soon as possible but no later than three days after receipt.
If you feel, and I agree after we have discussed it, that my description was misleading or inaccurate then, upon the receipt of the book in the condition you received it, I will then refund all your payment plus your return postage.
If the book isn't what you really wanted and if we agree, then, upon my receipt of the book in the condition you received it, I will then refund your bid price.

I have found, so far, that the majority of my buyers are genuine. For my part I try and describe the books as fairly as possible - I am not a professional - and do not like buyers to feel dissatisfied.

I am happy to pack together multiple buys made within a seven day period and post at cost as long as total value of purchases in the packet does not exceed the Royal Mail's built in compensation, which at the moment is £39.00.
